Job summary

VDL ETG Singapore is seeking a Digital Transformation Engineer to drive effective digital initiatives across manufacturing operations. You will work with Business, Technology, Data and Security teams to evaluate technologies and deliver value aligned with company goals.

You will design data models, dashboards, and automation solutions, while mentoring users and ensuring secure, scalable architectures. A background in CS/IT and hands-on skills with Power BI, Power Automate, and SQL are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• At least 3 years' experience in digital transformation or related roles, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate and Microsoft Excel is preferred.
• Proficient in SQL, Python and Excel VBA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the one‑point contact for end‑to‑end digital transformation projects, bridging Business, Technology, Data, and Security.
• Collaborate with internal teams, corporate IT, and external vendors to gather requirements and deliver digital solutions.
• Integrate and manage data from multiple sources, design data models, dashboards, and reports to enable data-driven decisions.
• Design, develop, and implement automation solutions to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
• Provide application support, manage licenses, troubleshoot issues, and handle user requests for reliability.
• Research, evaluate, and adopt emerging digital technologies to enhance processes.
• Design and maintain secure, scalable solution architectures and ensure cybersecurity compliance.
• Provide technical consulting, developer support, and user training for successful adoption.
• Promote continuous improvement and innovation by contributing to digital initiatives.

Purpose:

The Digital Transformation Engineer support implements of effective digital initiatives and solutions to drive enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and innovation. You collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to evaluate and deploy the right digital technologies/ solutions that align with departmental and company goals.

Key Area of Responsibilities:

• Serve as the one‑point contact for end‑to‑end digital transformation projects, as bridge between Business, Technology, Data, and Security to ensure align with business goals and successful delivery of digital solutions
• Collaborate with internal teams, corporate IT, and external vendors to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and deliver effective digital solutions
• Integrate and manage data from multiple sources, and design data models, dashboards, and reports to enable the use of data as information to drive action to meet KPI
• Design, develop, and implement automation solutions to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve operational efficiency
• Provide application support for business‑critical application by managing application licenses, troubleshooting issues, and managing user requests to ensure continuous and reliable operational performance
• Continuously research, evaluate, and adopt relevant emerging digital technologies to enhance manufacturing and business processes
• Design and maintain solution architecture to ensure it is secured, scalable, maintainable, and compliant with cybersecurity and data protection standards
• Provide technical consulting, developer support, and user training to ensure successful adoption and effective use of digital tools and systems.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation by actively contributing to digital initiatives and proposing enhancements to increase operational efficiency, adaptability, and long-term business value

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is required
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and translate technical concepts into business value
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify process improvement opportunities
• Minimum 3 years' experience in digital transformation or related roles, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
• Hands‑on experience with Power BI, Power App, Power Automate and Microsoft Excel is preferred
• Proficient in SQL, Python and Excel VBA is preferred
• Strong understanding of digital technologies such as AI/ML, IoT, RPA, cloud computing, and cybersecurity is preferred
• Experience in project execution, including documentation, testing, and user training is preferredCertifications in PMP and Lean Six Sigma certifications are preferred
• Working knowledge of IT infrastructure, network fundamentals, and cybersecurity/data protection principles is preferred
