Job summary

OpenTalent in Singapore is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to provide primary operational support and collaborate with application, infrastructure, and production teams. You will drive reliability, automation, monitoring, and security improvements, while reducing time-to-market with CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires 8+ years of DevOps experience, proficiency with Java stack, Docker/Kubernetes, and strong knowledge of AI/ML fundamentals for human‑AI collaboration.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps engineering, application services.
• Experience using AI-powered tools to enhance productivity and problem solving.
• Understanding of AI/ML fundamentals and human‑AI collaboration best practices.
• Ability to evaluate AI outputs for security and business alignment.
• Identify opportunities for AI integration and automation within workflows.

Responsibilities

• Providing primary operational technical support and assist the functional teams.
• Improving reliability and quality of our application (automation, monitoring, alerting, security, RCA etc.).
• Collaborate with application teams to troubleshoot and resolve environment / middleware technical issues efficiently.
• Reducing time-to-market by implementing CI/CD pipelines wherever possible.
• Working closely with application teams, infrastructure and production teams to deliver vulnerability, obsolesce remediation.
• Managing technical issues, escalations and ensuring good level of delivery.
• Maintain, improve and standardize existing workflow processes and framework.
• Promoting knowledge sharing within the organization (trainings, documentation, etc.).
• Bridge the gap between Dev and Ops on operations side.

Requirements:

• Master or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Programming & Systems Analysis/ Science (Computer Studies) faculties.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in DevOps engineering, application services.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize AI-powered tools (e.g., GitHub, Copilot) to enhance productivity and problem-solving capabilities.
• Understanding of AI/ML fundamentals including prompt engineering, model limitations, and best practices for human-AI collaboration.
• Experience in evaluating AI-generated outputs for accuracy, security, and alignment with business requirements.
• Ability to identify opportunities for AI integration and automation within existing workflows and processes.

Technical:

• Basic/intermediate knowledge of databases concepts / scripting (SQL Server, PostgreSQL preferred).
• Proficient in git.
• Hand-on experience with Java technology stack, Spring Boot ecosystem.
• Basic/intermediate experience with ELK.
• Proficient in Docker & Kubernetes.
• Hand-on experience Prometheus / Grafana.
• Good knowledge of Linux.
• Knowledge of ITIL.

Nice to Have:

• Atlassian Bamboo / Jenkins / GitLab runners skills.
• Good understating of asynchronous systems and message brokers (e.g. Kafka).
• Cloud ops experience (AWS, GPC, etc).
• Experience working in the financial industry or a similarly regulated environment.
• Programming or scripting skills for automation purpose is a plus.
