Job summary

Talent-Merge Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Design Coordinator for tunnel construction and underground infrastructure projects. You will oversee coordination of structural and architectural design, review drawings and specs, and liaise with consultants and subcontractors to align designs with project requirements.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering with 5+ years in tunnel or major civil projects, strong knowledge of Singapore

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in tunnel construction or major civil projects.
• Strong knowledge of structural/architectural drawings and Singapore standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; BIM tools (Revit/Navisworks) a plus.
• Good communication and coordination with consultants, subcontractors and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage structural and architectural design activities for tunnel construction and underground infrastructure projects.
• Review and coordinate design drawings, technical specifications, shop drawings and construction documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Liaise with consultants, architects, PE’s, subcontractors and project teams to resolve design-related issues.
• Ensure proper coordination and integration of structural and architectural works with civil, M&E systems.
• Identify and resolve design discrepancies, clashes and technical issues to minimise delays and rework.
• Assist in the preparation, review and submission of design drawings, method statements and material submissions for approval.
• Coordinate with site engineers and construction teams to align design implementation with approved drawings and project specs.
• Attend design coordination meetings, technical discussions and site meetings with clients and stakeholders.
• Monitor design progress and ensure timely issuance of updated drawings and documentation.
• Ensure all design coordination activities comply with Singapore regulations and safety standards.

Job Description

• Coordinate and manage structural and architectural design activities for tunnel construction and underground infrastructure projects.
  
• Review and coordinate design drawings, technical specifications, shop drawings and construction documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  
• Liaise with consultants, architects, Professional Engineers, subcontractors and project teams to resolve design-related issues.
  
• Ensure proper coordination and integration of structural and architectural works with civil, mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems.
  
• Identify and resolve design discrepancies, clashes and technical issues to minimise construction delays and rework.
  
• Assist in the preparation, review and submission of design drawings, method statements, technical proposals and material submissions for approval.
  
• Coordinate with site engineers and construction teams to ensure that design implementation aligns with approved drawings and project specifications.
  
• Attend design coordination meetings, technical discussions and site meetings with clients, consultants and relevant stakeholders.
  
• Monitor design progress, maintain drawing registers and ensure the timely issuance of updated drawings and documentation.
  
• Ensure all design coordination activities comply with relevant Singapore building regulations, LTA requirements, safety standards and project quality specifications.
  

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  
• Minimum 5 years relevant working experience in structural and architectural design coordination, preferably in tunnel construction, underground infrastructure or major civil engineering projects.
  
• Good knowledge of structural and architectural drawings, construction methodologies, design coordination and relevant Singapore construction standards.
  
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of BIM, Revit or Navisworks will be an added advantage.
  
• Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with consultants, subcontractors and site project teams.
