Job summary

TALENT-MERGE PTE. LTD. is seeking a Civil/Structural Design Coordinator in Singapore to oversee tunnel construction design coordination with a focus on structural and architectural integration.

The role requires reviewing drawings, specifications, and shop drawings while coordinating with consultants, engineers and subcontractors to resolve issues. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with project requirements, liaising with stakeholders, and managing design progress and documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in structural and architectural design coordination, preferably in tunnel construction.
• Knowledge of structural and architectural drawings, construction methodologies and Singapore standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage structural and architectural design activities for tunnel construction and underground infrastructure projects.
• Review and coordinate design drawings, technical specifications, shop drawings and construction documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Liaise with consultants, architects, Professional Engineers, subcontractors and project teams to resolve design-related issues.
• Ensure proper coordination and integration of structural and architectural works with civil, mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems.
• Identify and resolve design discrepancies, clashes and technical issues to minimise construction delays and rework.
• Assist in preparing, reviewing and submitting design drawings, method statements, technical proposals and material submissions for approval.
• Coordinate with site engineers and construction teams to ensure design implementation aligns with approved drawings and project specifications.
• Attend design coordination meetings, technical discussions and site meetings with clients, consultants and relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor design progress, maintain drawing registers and ensure timely issuance of updated drawings and documentation.
• Ensure all design coordination activities comply with relevant Singapore building regulations, LTA requirements, safety standards and project quality specifications.

Requirements

1. Minimum Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.


2. Relevant working experience in structural and architectural design coordination, preferably in tunnel construction, underground infrastructure or major civil engineering projects.


3. Good knowledge of structural and architectural drawings, construction methodologies, design coordination and relevant Singapore construction standards.


4. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of BIM, Revit or Navisworks will be an added advantage.


5. Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with consultants, subcontractors and site project teams.
