Job summary

MERANTI POWER PTE. LTD. is seeking a Deputy Head, Commercial to develop and operationalize diesel procurement negotiations and contracts. You will lead supplier relationships, monitor market trends, and drive cost savings while ensuring governance and risk management.

The role requires an established track record in diesel procurement, strategic sourcing, and high-value contract negotiation, with leadership experience and willingness to base on Jurong Island, Singapore.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in economics, business, supply chain, or engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years in commercial, procurement, or fuel-related roles is advantageous.
• Proven skills in diesel procurement, sourcing, supplier management, and negotiation.
• Strong knowledge of fuel markets, pricing mechanisms, and risk management.

Job description

We are inviting applicants for the position of Deputy Head, Commercial, who will develop and operationalize fuel procurement negotiation and contracts. This position has the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement diesel procurement strategies to secure reliable supply, competitive pricing, and strong commercial outcomes.
• Manage supplier and partner relationships, including diesel suppliers, traders, logistics providers, and other key service providers.
• Monitor fuel market trends and pricing movements to support procurement planning, commercial decisions, and market intelligence reporting.
• Lead contract negotiations and administration for diesel purchasing, transportation, and storage, ensuring compliance, performance management, and risk mitigation.
• Control procurement risks and budgets by managing fuel costs, delivering cost-saving initiatives, and ensuring regulatory and corporate governance compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead commercial personnel to achieve business objectives, drive operational excellence, and support company growth and talent development.

Requirements

• Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or other relevant areas.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial, procurement, supply chain, fuel trading, energy, oil & gas, or related industries will be advantageous.
• Proven expertise in diesel procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
• Strong understanding of fuel markets, pricing mechanisms, supply chain operations, and commercial risk management.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate high-value contracts and deliver sustainable cost savings and business value.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, stakeholder management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to be based on Jurong Island.
