Job summary

National University of Singapore (NUS) seeks a Deputy Director for the Centre for Infectious Disease Emergency Response (CIDER) to lead strategic vision, governance, and cross-sector collaboration. Qualifications

• PhD, MD, MBBS with postgraduate qualifications in infectious diseases or public health.
• Internationally recognised expertise in infectious diseases and outbreak response.
• Senior leadership experience in academia, healthcare, government, or international organisations.
• Proven track record in research leadership, grants, and scholarly publications.
• Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments.
• Strong strategic, communication, relationship-building, and organisational skills.
• Experience contributing to outbreak response.
• Demonstrably strong international multidisciplinary network.

Responsibilities

• Strategic leadership and centre development; represent the centre in forums and groups.
• Oversee emergency preparedness, response planning, and network development.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government, hospitals, universities, NGOs, and industry.
• Lead educational programs, training, and capacity-building activities.
• Oversee operations, budgets, governance, and performance monitoring.
• Provide expert policy advice and translate science into action.
