Job summary

Xiaomi Technology Singapore seeks a skilled backend database engineer to design, monitor, and optimize large-scale databases with a focus on availability and reliability. You will build tools to automate management and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to handle critical issues.

You will collaborate with application teams to improve performance and reliability, and work with MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, HDFS, and HBase in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science/IT or related field.
• Strong knowledge of database theory, architecture and high availability concepts.
• Experience with backend languages (Python, Go, Java, etc.).
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux and networking concepts.
• Excellent communication for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, monitor, implement, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize database systems for high availability and reliability.
• Develop software or utilities to automate management of large-scale database instances.
• Perform fault detection and stop-loss capability development to speed up anomaly recovery.
• Collaborate with application teams to improve database performance and reliability.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to ensure uptime and resolve critical issues.
