Job description
Responsibilities
  • Owning, tracking, and resolving database-related incidents and requests.
  • Fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within the defined SLAs.
  • Reviewing service-related reports (e.g., database backups, maintenance, monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure service issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs.
  • Responding to database-related alerts and escalations, and working with vendors and other parties to develop strategic solutions to recurring problems.
  • Performing data dictionary documentation, data modelling, PL/SQL, and SQL.
  • Managing and resolving issues in alignment with SLAs.
  • Establishing and maintaining communication with technology customers to keep them updated on the status of their requests.
  • Initiating and performing changes on Non-Production systems.
  • Proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.
  • Performing any other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in database administration or database operations.
  • Strong proficiency in PL/SQL and SQL, with hands‑on experience in data modelling and data dictionary documentation.
  • Solid experience in database incident management, troubleshooting, and resolving alerts within defined SLAs.
  • Good understanding of database backup strategies, maintenance plans, performance monitoring, and reporting.
  • Experience working with vendors and cross-functional teams to resolve recurring issues and implement improvements.
  • Ability to manage changes on Non-Production systems and elevate issues proactively when required.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to update stakeholders clearly and professionally.
  • Detail‑oriented, responsible, and able to handle multiple requests in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Willing to perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned.
