Job Summary

The Data & Privacy Transformation Lead – Finance & Treasury will play a pivotal role in defining and implementing the strategy for Data Privacy, Data Sovereignty and Records Management strategy for Finance & Treasury. The individual in this role will need to partner closely with Fin Ops & Treasury Management Teams, Business leads, CDO, 2LoD, CFOs (Group and Country), COOs, CIOs and Operational Risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand the risk associated with Data Privacy, Data Sovereignty and Records Management across Finance and Treasury processes and treatment plan.
  • Drive the delivery of the associated Data Privacy, Data Sovereignty and Record Management treatment plan activities across Finance & Treasury.
  • Manage communications through updates and metrics to forums related to DPTP.
  • Collaborate with SCB CDO to ensure that tooling and capabilities rolled out to support DPTP is fit for Finance & Treasury requirements.
  • Design and implement the operating model maintain compliance in BAU to Data Privacy, Data Sovereignty, and Record management.
  • As the overall programme lead within Finance and Treasury, the individual will need to define and monitor the strategic book of work and deliverables to ensure compliance for impacted Finance & Treasury processes to Data Privacy, Data Sovereignty and Record management standards.
  • Implement and run the new Operating model to ensure on‑going compliance with regulations and applicable data standards.
  • Setup and attend working groups on Data Privacy, Data Sovereignty and Record Management best practices and on DPTP delivery.
  • Produce updates on DPTP delivery and compliance status to NFRC and appropriate forums with review by Head of Data Governance Finance & Treasury and Head of Data Management Finance & Treasury.
  • Work closely with upstream business functions to ensure that Data privacy and records management are documented and implemented within Finance & Treasury where applicable.
  • Assess the materiality of the Finance & Treasury functions to applicable data standards, and defined in terms of scope and materiality.
  • Escalate where appropriate to relevant forums and functions when material delivery is impacting regulatory or business commitments.
  • Oversee plan and manage the remediation activity and annual review of controls.
  • Management of DPTP epics and report accurately to overall DPTP programme.
  • Perform QA and ensure integrity of deliverables to Data Privacy, Data Sovereignty and Record Management Standards to ensure compliance.
  • Track and monitor upstream and downstream dependencies working with the relevant Data forums and NFRC’s.
  • Ensure data control weaknesses and non‑compliance to applied data standards and/or regulations are quantified, measured and tracked to resolution.
  • Develop training and awareness programme for Data Privacy, Records Management and Data Sovereignty across all Finance and Treasury teams.
  • Foster a culture of good Data Privacy, Records Management and Data Sovereignty across all Finance & Treasury teams.
  • Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group relevant to Data privacy, Records Management and Data Sovereignty governance.
  • Manage and track declared internal and external milestones and provide accurate and transparent status updates.
  • Ensure accurate and quality updates are presented in DPTP forums for all relevant Finance and Treasury Processes (where material Data Risk is identified).
  • Prepare updates for the Finance and Treasury Non‑Financial Risk Committees on compliance and implementation of DPTP and on‑going risk related to Data Privacy, Records Management and Data Sovereignty governance.
  • Provide consolidated updates into DPTP Programme and Non‑Financial Risk Committees.

Skills and Experience
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Academic degree from a well‑recognised institution.
  • 10+ years of total experience in banking/finance industry with 5+ years in data management.
  • Geographic experience, including Asia.
  • Core knowledge of UK & International regulatory environment.
  • Knowledge of tools and techniques of data governance and the ability to develop and maintain an organization's data in order to meet business requirements.
