Job summary

Kpler in Singapore is hiring a Software Engineer to develop backend services, data pipelines and APIs, and to contribute to the evolution of our cargo movements data platform. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability, performance and high availability, while writing clean, secure code and maintaining thorough technical docs.

You will collaborate with product managers, engineers and data scientists to implement robust solutions, participate in code reviews and help shape

Qualifications

• Experience using Python to build data processing, transformation, or integration workflows.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with APIs and backend services.
• Knowledge of modern software development practices: Git, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD.
• Basic containerisation with Docker.
• Ability to troubleshoot production systems and investigate issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance backend services, data pipelines, APIs and user-facing application features within scope and guidance.
• Write clean, secure, well-tested code following team standards and engineering best practices.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and provide input on proposed solutions.
• Investigate and debug issues in development and production systems using logs and metrics.
• Support reliability and performance by contributing to monitoring, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, analysts, and data scientists to clarify requirements and deliver reliable capabilities.
• Participate in code reviews and respond to feedback professionally.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation for features and processes.
