Job summary

Nxera is seeking a senior EHS leader to govern regional safety for data centre construction, ensuring compliance with standards and local regulations across APAC. You will independently oversee contractor safety, incident management and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities include developing regional EHS standards, reviewing safety plans, conducting audits, and driving safety improvements with project teams. Travel across the region is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, Construction Management or Environmental Management.
• Preferred certifications include WSH Officer/Manager, NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 45001/14001 Lead Auditor, CSP, OSHA or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of construction safety experience, with at least 5 years in data centre or mission-critical projects.
• Experience managing EPC/general contractors, safety consultants and multi-country projects in APAC.
• Proven incident investigation, root cause analysis and contractor performance management.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety, risk management and environmental compliance.
• Leadership, communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, collaborative, and able to travel regionally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain regional construction EHS standards, procedures and governance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with project HSE plans, environmental requirements, Permit-to-Work, and Design for Safety.
• Review risk assessments, method statements, lifting and emergency plans.
• Conduct compliance reviews and track corrective actions to closure.
• Review contractor EHS capability for regional tenders.
• Conduct regular site inspections and governance reviews across regional projects.
• Monitor high-risk activities (excavation, lifting, high work, electrical, hot work, confined space).
• Assess contractor EHS performance and escalate concerns as needed.
• Drive safety improvements with project and contractor teams.
• Oversee risk assessments and ensure controls prior to work; support incident investigations.
• Prepare EHS dashboards and reports; review performance with senior management.
• Provide safety oversight for isolation, energisation, testing and commissioning activities.
