Job summary

Siemens AG Singapore is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to maintain critical data center operations and support server platforms. You will handle installations, patches, capacity management, and incident response to keep systems stable and secure.

The role requires a diploma or bachelor’s in IT/CS/Engineering and hands-on experience in data center environments, with strong Windows/Linux administration, virtualization, backup, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

You'll make a difference by:

• Maintaining critical data center operations by performing routine inspections, monitoring environmental conditions, supporting hardware lifecycle activities, and coordinating with facilities, security, and vendors to ensure operational reliability.
• Supporting server and virtualization platforms through installation, configuration, patching, monitoring, capacity management, troubleshooting, and controlled implementation of approved infrastructure changes.
• Managing storage, backup, and recovery activities by monitoring storage health and performance, validating backup operations, supporting restore requests, and participating in disaster recovery and business continuity exercises.
• Responding to incidents and improving system stability by monitoring infrastructure alerts, diagnosing and resolving issues, communicating incident updates, and contributing to root cause analysis and preventive actions.
• Ensuring security, compliance, and operational governance through infrastructure patching, vulnerability remediation, access reviews, audit support, configuration management, and maintenance of accurate asset and system records.
• Collaborating on infrastructure projects and operational improvements by supporting factory digitalization initiatives, platform upgrades, system implementations, process optimization, and the development of technical documentation and knowledge resources.
• Relevant technical education and experience with a diploma or bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, engineering, or a related field, combined with experience in infrastructure operations, data center support, or enterprise IT environments.
• Strong server administration fundamentals with hands‑on experience supporting Windows Server or Linux environments and a working understanding of both operating systems.
• Knowledge of core infrastructure technologies including server hardware, RAID, storage platforms, virtualization, backup and recovery, monitoring tools, and log analysis.
• Understanding of data center environments including power systems, UPS, cooling, structured cabling, physical security, asset management, and environmental monitoring.
• Basic networking troubleshooting capability with knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, VLANs, and server‑side connectivity diagnostics to support effective issue escalation.
• A detail-oriented and collaborative mindset with strong communication skills in English, a commitment to operational excellence and security practices, and the flexibility to support on‑site operations, planned maintenance, and emergency response activities when required.
