Job summary

Nxera is seeking a Data Centre Mechanical Subject Matter Expert to lead design and integration of mechanical systems for state-of-the-art data centers. You will perform complex calculations, sizing, and equipment selection while ensuring safety and performance across projects.

Join a team delivering robust, scalable infrastructure with BMS/DCIM integration, commissioning, and on-site execution. Travel to Malaysia and other Asia Pacific regions will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Mechanical PE licensure is preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in designing and maintaining mechanical systems for data centers or similar critical facilities.
• Knowledge of large-scale mission critical mechanical infrastructure.
• Experience with fast-track design/build projects or major upgrades.
• Fundamental thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer knowledge; fire protection and plumbing.
• Ability to integrate Renewable Energy Systems into distribution networks; strong codes understanding.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Team leadership and ability to work independently; safety-focused.
• Willing to travel to Malaysia and other Asia Pacific regions.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems for data centers (ACMV, hydraulic, cooling, fire protection, plumbing).
• Perform engineering calculations and equipment sizing; select and procure equipment meeting safety and performance standards.
• Collaborate with core team from BOD to IFC for new builds and upgrades.
• Interface with stakeholders to translate requirements into executable plans.
• Liaise with BMS/DCIM and enhance related projects.
• Review commissioning scripts and witness key tests on site.
• Conduct site inspections and support start-up activities.
• Maintain internal design specs and standards; capture lessons learned.
