Job summary

Manpower Staffing Services (Singapore) Pte Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical, structural, and piping scope for hyperscale data center modules in Singapore. You will review drawings, ensure compliance with codes, and interface with stakeholders to ensure reliability and safety throughout design, construction, and commissioning phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Experience in mechanical design and engineering, with a focus on data center infrastructure.
• Ability to produce drawings/sketches to illustrate design ideas.
• General knowledge of construction, operation and maintenance of data centers or mechanical systems.
• Knowledge in piping and fire suppression system design and construction.
• Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the mechanical, structural and piping scope and systems in large scale data centers across the design, construction, assembly, testing, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Checking and approving drawings / designs; interface communication, and ensuring the accuracy, reliability, efficiency, and safety of the mechanical scope of work for the data center modules.
• Assist various stakeholders in troubleshooting site installation and commissioning problems.
• Review and monitor Engineering work to assure accuracy and conformance with client and/or company specifications, governing codes, and safety practices.
• Attend and participate in Design and Development Planning and Review sessions to meet customer’s and industry needs.
• Prepare Technical Requisitions for mechanical systems and various components.
• Review vendor quotations and provide feedback to procurement team.
• Prepare mechanical deliverables such as valve lists, equipment lists, piping line lists, piping stress/flexibility studies, line sizing, etc.
• Prepare bulk MTOs and detailed BOMs.
• Stay up to date with advancements in data center technologies and recommend improvements.
• Represent company with customers during review meetings; act as primary contact for inquiries.
• Provide technical support during construction, respond to RFIs.
• Attend job site visits, project meetings, and commissioning activities.
