Job summary

ByteDance is seeking a Project Manager for our Asia Pacific data center initiatives based in Singapore. You will coordinate technical planning, site selection support, and design reviews for critical systems, ensuring compliance with design standards and sponsor requirements.

Join a team that partners with external providers, internal SMEs, and operations to deliver reliable, scalable infrastructure. Travel to sites is required, and experience with power and cooling design is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of relevant large-scale data center or other mission critical building design experience.
• Some travel to data center sites is required.

Responsibilities

• Support data center site selection-related tasks, responsible for technical compliance evaluation of design submissions by data center providers.
• Collaborate with external data center providers and internal subject matter experts to provide technical inputs in the design review of various critical systems and other disciplines for data centers to ensure compliance to the basis of design.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure specific requirements are incorporated into the data center infrastructure design as well as data hall fit-out.
• Participate in regular follow-up of data center construction and fit-out works.
• Involvement in testing and commissioning of the data center critical systems and handover to data center operations team.
• Collaborate with the data center operations team and provide support as and when required; assist local operation team for troubleshooting and optimizing design standards.
• Participate and work closely with the design team for localisation effort of data center standards & critical equipment specifications.
• Support Ad-Hoc project management tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

About the TeamThe Technical and Innovation team is responsible for technical planning and management of built-to-suit and leased data center projects in Asia Pacific region, data center infrastructure technology standardisation and research and development, as well as promoting green energy and achieving carbon neutrality as part of our global roadmap.

• Support data center site selection related task, responsible for technical compliance evaluation of design submission by data center provider
• Collaborate with external data center providers and internal subject matter experts to provide technical inputs in the design review of various critical systems as well as other disciplines for data centers to ensure compliance to the basis of design
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure specific requirements are incorporated into the data center infrastructure design as well as data hall fit-out
• Participate in regular follow-up of data center construction and fit-out works
• Involvement in testing and commissioning of the data center critical systems (including review of test script, witnessing of test on site) and handover to data center operations team
• Collaborate with the data center operations team and provide support as and when required. Support local operation team for trouble-shooting and optimizing design standards
• Participate and work closely with the design team for localisation effort of data center standards & critical equipment specifications
• Support Ad-Hoc project management tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 5 years of relevant large-scale data center or other mission critical building design experience. Particularly, data center design principles such as power and cooling calculation, redundancy, etc
• Some travel to data center sites is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant experience of advanced electrical/liquid-cooling technologies design and deployment
• Certified Chartered/Professional Engineer
