Job summary

ByteDance is expanding its Data Center Service team to build and operate hyperscale data centers, delivering scalable cloud infrastructure and reliable services. The role focuses on OS deployment for large IDC environments, provisioning platform evolution, and core backend components like PXE services and OS image management.

You will drive automation, collaborate on security and disaster recovery, and contribute to performance testing and AI-assisted troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; 3+ years in IT infrastructure, server operations, system engineering, or hardware validation.
• Strong understanding of data center infrastructure and operational models.
• Deep knowledge of Linux operating systems and server hardware architecture including CPUs, memory, storage, RAID, and NICs.
• Solid understanding of PXE-based provisioning workflows and related network protocols (DHCP, TFTP, HTTP).
• Hands-on with IPMI/Redfish and boot architectures (BIOS/UEFI).
• Strong programming and automation skills in Golang, Python, or Shell scripting.
• Familiarity with Git workflows and Linux admin/troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Large-Scale Server OS Deployment across large-scale IDC environments.
• Provisioning Platform Architecture Evolution for hyperscale automation.
• Low-Level Services & Hardware Enablement including PXE and OS image management.
• AIOps Innovation with log analysis, root-cause ID, automated troubleshooting, and self-healing systems.
• Engineering Efficiency & Security via CI/CD pipelines and disaster recovery.
• Hardware Validation & Delivery Assurance across end-to-end server validation.
• Performance Testing & Optimization for CPUs, memory, storage, GPUs; GPU benchmarking and tuning.
• Test Automation: benchmarking and stress-testing frameworks via scripting.
• Quality Analytics & Continuous Improvement for large-scale server shipments.
