Job summary

Dyson Institute is seeking a Data Specialist to support analytics across multi-disciplinary squads, translating business needs into data-driven insights. The role emphasizes data governance, storytelling with dashboards, and partnering with Product Managers, BI Specialists, and Data Engineers.

You will own data processes, build scalable analytics, and help teams automate data flows, enabling faster, higher-quality decision-making across functions within Dyson's data ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related STEM field.
• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in data analytics.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proven experience with Tableau for analytics and data visualisation.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, Python or PySpark.
• Good understanding of data modelling, data architecture, and data governance concepts.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Google.
• Familiarity with Jira & Confluence.
• Knowledge in Power Platform is a significant plus but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Support Product Managers in facilitating discovery sessions and gathering business requirements.
• Document data and process flows, while identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Identify data sources and enhance data collection to reduce manual processes.
• Analyse and visualize data from various sources to support data-driven decision making.
• Monitor and ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data used in analytics and reporting.
• Writing clear user stories and acceptance criteria for product delivery.
• Identify opportunities for process automation and simplifying data flows.
• Advocate for process improvements and Agile ways of working across teams.
• Respond to data requests and provide analytical support to business teams as needed.
