Job summary

Tyson Jay Management seeks a Cybersecurity Operations Engineer to safeguard enterprise IT environments through security monitoring and incident handling. The role covers vulnerability management, access controls and infrastructure security within a managed services context.

Responsibilities include monitoring events, investigating incidents, coordinating containment and recovery, and participating in after-hours rotations with infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, IT, CS or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in cybersecurity, security operations, infrastructure support or system administration.
• Exposure to security monitoring, vulnerability management, access controls, endpoint security or infrastructure security.
• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent with good troubleshooting and teamwork skills.

• Support security controls across endpoints, networks, and infrastructure including monitoring, firewalls, and secure remote access.
• Maintain system security standards, hardening controls and other operational security configurations.
• Support security reviews, audits and compliance activities, with relevant documentation.
• Participate in after-hours support rotation for critical security incidents.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security events and investigate unusual activities across enterprise systems, endpoints, networks and cloud environments.
• Support the investigation and resolution of security incidents, including escalation, containment, recovery and follow-up actions.
• Perform vulnerability reviews and work with technical teams to prioritise and address identified security weaknesses.
• Administer identity, access and privileged-access controls in accordance with least-privilege principles.
• Support endpoint, network and infrastructure security controls including security monitoring, endpoint protection, firewalls and secure remote access.
• Maintain system security standards, hardening controls and other operational security configurations across the environment.
• Support security reviews, audits, compliance activities and the preparation of relevant operational documentation.
• Participate in an after-hours support rotation for critical security incidents and work closely with infrastructure and operations teams during escalations.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, security operations, infrastructure support or system administration.
• Practical exposure to areas such as security monitoring, vulnerability management, access controls, endpoint security or infrastructure security.
• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent, with good troubleshooting, communication and teamwork skills.

Additional Information

• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM, excluding Public Holidays.
• The role includes participation in an after-hours support rotation for critical incidents.
