• Strong understanding of loan products, covenants, and credit control functions.
• Able to develop, calibrate and validate credit models.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
• Fluent in English and Chinese for regular Head Office communication.

Responsibilities

• Review, evaluate and make credit decisions on lending limits and collateral values per policies and risk appetite.
• Support credit advisory and structuring to identify risks and balance client needs with bank risk.
• Collaborate with Risk Management to align on key credit risks and controls.
• Implement credit systems and tools to support lending activities.
• Ensure risk management framework and guidelines identify borrower credit risk effectively.
• Issue credit documentation and monitor risk controls per approvals.
• Prepare credit reports and escalate violations as needed.
• Assist Team Lead with audits, risk control tasks and system enhancements.

Job description

Responsibilities:

1. Review, evaluate and make credit decisions on granting lending limits and assigning collateral values aligned with regulatory guidelines, credit policies and risk appetite within the Bank.


2. Support internal stakeholders for credit advisory and credit structuring to identify key risks and work out a risk balanced solution acceptable for clients and the Bank.


3. Maintain close collaboration with Risk Management Department to reach a common and balance understanding of key credit risks and control practices.


4. Implement adequate credit systems and tools to support the credit lending business.


5. Ensure that the Bank's risk management framework, policies, procedures and guidelines remain effective in identifying the credit risk of Borrowers.


6. Issue credit documentation, and monitor the risk controls for credit conditions per credit approvals.


7. Prepare credit related reports and monitor credit violations for escalation to Management where required.


8. Support Team Lead in adhoc tasks, audit inspection, operation risk control management and system enhancement projects in relation to credit management.

Requirements:

1. 8 to 10 years of credit evaluation experience within Private Banking industry


2. Good understanding of loan products, credit loan covenants and credit control functions


3. Able to develop, calibrate and validate credit models


4. Good knowledge on Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint


5. Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese, as the role requires regular communication with Head Office
