Job summary

SHELL INFOTECH PTE. LTD. is seeking a vigilant IT Operations specialist for 24x7 production support in a rotating shift environment in Singapore.

You will manage incident response, DR testing, batch job monitoring, health checks and escalation across teams, with focus on automation and SRE practices to improve reliability. • Provide 24 x 7 IT Operational support to production support teams including weekends and holidays.
• Ready to work in rotation shifts.
• Incident Management and Reporting
• Recovery coordinator for involving the right parties and recording of chronological events
• Point of escalation for support staff or management
• Review all daily activities and ensure completion of shift duties for each team and proper handover
• Monitoring and recovery of batch jobs
• Perform health checks and alert management
• Coordinate DR testing
• Consolidate and analyse management reports for presentation
• Implement continuous improvements through automation tools, SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) principles
• Perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved by the application team.
• Ensure proper guidance, training and mentoring are given to new staff.
• Lead formal and informal Post Event Problem Reviews (PEPRs) with platform support teams.
• Ensures on-time communication to stakeholders on application issues.
• Facilitate and manage business/operations communication during critical issues.
• Operating System knowledge: Linux / Solaris / AIX is an advantage.
• Conversant with SQL.
• Knowledge of Shell scripting and Job scheduling.
