Job summary

Shopee is seeking a Cost Controller in the CPO Office to oversee R&D costs across Opex, Capex, and headcount. You will deliver management reports and analytics to inform executive decisions.

This role partners with cross-functional teams, drives cost transparency, and champions process improvements in budgeting, forecasting, and data-driven cost management across Shopee and Monee.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Finance, Accounting or Data Analytics.

Job Description

• Own the management and monitoring of R&D costs across Opex, Capex, and Headcount, and play a key role in the budgeting and forecasting cycles that guide how Shopee and Monee invest in R&D.
• Deliver management reports and analysis to the executive team to support critical business decisions, uncovering key cost drivers and translating data into clear insights on cost performance.
• Perform cost allocation and in-depth analysis that reflects actual resource usage and business needs, giving leadership an accurate, transparent view of where spending goes.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across the organization to gather and validate data, resolve issues, and enable business changes as the company evolves.
• Champion continuous improvement of reporting and cost management processes, raising the bar on efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above with a major in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics would be preferable
• Strong analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sense of complex data and spot issues early.
• Able to use AI tools effectively to enhance work efficiency, with the curiosity to explore smarter ways of working.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams and levels.
• Self-driven, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment.
