Job summary

InfoTech Services (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking a contract IT professional to support the Security Bureau in Singapore. The role involves development, testing, and ongoing maintenance of IT systems, plus on-site and helpdesk support under SB.

Requirements include JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Linux, MySQL/MongoDB, and strong English and Chinese communication. Knowledge of government regulations is a plus. This is a full-time contract with possible overtime and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer subjects or related disciplines.
• Hands-on JavaScript experience.

• Experience in setup and maintenance of Linux systems.
• Experience in MySQL DB or MongoDB.

Responsibilities

• Participate in SB IT system development and maintenance.
• Engage in SDLC activities including requirements, design, testing and deployment.
• Test mobile apps on iOS or HarmonyOS/EMUI platforms.
• Liaise with users, vendors and operators for requirements and issue resolution.
• Produce and maintain system documentation.
• Provide helpdesk and onsite IT support to end-users.
• Assist in IT security risk assessment and audits.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisors.

Job description

Project Nature (T26) Development, testing and on-going maintenance for IT systems of Security Bureau (SB)

Duties - Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the SBU;

• a) participate in the system development, on-going maintenance and minor enhancements for IT systems of SB;
• b) participate in system development lifecycle (SDLC) activities including but not limited to feasibility study, user requirement collection, system analysis & design, system implementation, system testing (unit test, integration test, UAT, etc.), data conversion, system migration and deployment;
• c) test mobile applications on mobile devices of iOS or HarmonyOS/EMUI platforms;
• d) liaise with different parties (including users, vendors, computer operators) in user requirement collection, system development and problem investigation for IT systems;
• e) produce/maintain system documentation;
• f) provide helpdesk and onsite IT support to end-users;
• g) provide technical advices for IT systems;
• h) assist in IT security risk assessment & audit; and
• i) perform any other duties assigned by supervisors.

Remark: Overtime work and on-call support outside office hours may be required.

Requirements The appointed staff should have:

• a) degree in computer subjects or related disciplines;
• b) hands-on experience in JavaScript programming;
• c) good knowledge of web programming, HTML5 and CSS3;
• d) experience in set up and maintenance of Linux systems;
• e) experience in MySQL DB or Mongo DB;
• f) good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
• g) good communication skills and customer service skills;
• h) independent, self-motivated and good sense of responsibility; and
• i) pleasant personality and good interpersonal skills.

Candidates who have the following knowledge or skills would be more preferable:

• j) experience in Java programming;
• k) experience in version control systems (e.g. Git);
• l) experience in testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, Junit); and
• m) exposure in government regulations, guidelines and procedures, such as Security Regulations (SR), Stores and Procurement Regulations (SPR), Baseline IT Security Policy (S17), IT Security Guidelines (G3).

Technical Skills:

• . At least 1 year's experience in HTML5 (HT5);
• . At least 1 year's experience in JavaScript Programming (JAP);
• . At least 1 year's experience in Linux System Administration (LIN);
• . At least 1 year's experience in MySQL (MSQ);
• . At least 1 year's experience in Web Programming (WEB);
• . 1 year's experience in Security Risk Assessment and Audit (SAA) is an advantage;
• . 1 year's experience in System Implementation and Maintenance/Support (SIM) is an advantage;
• . 1 year's experience in JAVA Programming (JAV) is an advantage;
• . 1 year's experience in HTML version before HTML5 (HTM) is an advantage.

Non-technical Skills:

• . At least 1 year's experience in customer service (CLS);
• . At least 6 months' experience in work with the Government (GOV);
• . At least 6 months' experience in the management and support of Government systems and services (GSS);
• . 1 year's experience in IT audit (ITA) is an advantage.

• - Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent;
• - At least 2 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 1 year's relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
