Job summary

Recruit Express Pte Ltd is hiring a Contract Buyer to support a healthcare client in Singapore. The role requires hands-on procurement experience and strong supplier management, with responsibility for POs, inventory, and cost-saving negotiations.

The position is onsite at Changi for a 12-month contract, with potential renewal or conversion. Strong collaboration across production, finance, engineering and quality teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on procurement experience required.
• Strong vendor and supplier management abilities.
• Manufacturing and raw materials procurement experience preferred.
• Experience with local and overseas suppliers.
• Good understanding of inventory management and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage quotations and process purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies and equipment.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure timely replenishment and prevent stock shortages.
• Maintain purchasing, pricing and supplier performance records.
• Manage purchase order health, including ageing, past-due and open POs.
• Coordinate direct and regulated indirect materials with local and overseas suppliers.
• Develop supplier relationships and negotiate favorable terms and cost-saving opportunities.
• Support localisation, sourcing and BCP initiatives to mitigate supply risks.
• Analyse purchasing data and generate reports to support decision-making.
• Support PO Collaboration, Supplier Pull, VMI, MRP and usage planning to balance demand and supply.
• Determine optimal inventory levels balancing service levels, costs and working capital.
• Drive actions to manage excess inventory, slow-moving stocks and shortages.
• Coordinate urgent shipments and resolve delivery, receiving and PO-related issues.
• Ensure purchased products meet required quality standards.
• Work with production, finance, engineering and quality teams to support business objectives.
