Job summary

Responsibilities include supervising daily activities, conducting toolbox talks, coordinating logistics, and maintaining vehicles and site records.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years in the construction industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Valid Singapore Class 4 driving licence.
• At least 5 years of experience operating concrete mixer trucks.
• Good knowledge of Singapore construction practices and WSH regulations.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Hands-on mechanical skills for heavy vehicles and site equipment.

Job description

Vanguard Transport Pte Ltd is looking for an experienced Construction Supervisor to oversee daily site operations, manpower and safety across our construction and earthworks projects in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily site activities to ensure works are carried out according to drawings, specifications, schedule and quality standards


• Plan, assign and monitor work for site workers and subcontractors; conduct daily briefings and toolbox meetings


• Coordinate site logistics, including scheduling of tipper trucks, concrete mixer trucks, machinery and material deliveries


• Drive the company's concrete mixer truck when required to support site operations and deliveries


• Carry out basic troubleshooting, repair and routine maintenance of company trucks and site equipment, and coordinate with workshops for major repairs


• Conduct regular inspections of vehicles and equipment, and keep maintenance and repair records


• Enforce Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements on site; carry out site inspections, hazard identification and risk assessments, and ensure Permit-to-Work procedures are followed


• Ensure compliance with MOM, BCA, LTA and NEA regulations


• Inspect completed works, identify defects and arrange rectification


• Monitor material usage, equipment condition and site housekeeping


• Prepare daily site reports, manpower records, delivery orders and progress updates for the Project Manager


• Liaise with main contractors, consultants, clients and authorities on site matters


• Attend site coordination meetings and follow up on action items


• Handle incidents and near-misses, and support investigations and corrective actions

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role


• Valid Singapore Class 4 driving licence


• At least 5 years of experience operating concrete mixer trucks


• Good knowledge of Singapore construction practices and WSH regulations


• Able to read and interpret construction drawings


• Hands-on mechanical skills in repairing and maintaining heavy vehicles (e.g. tipper trucks, mixer trucks) and construction equipment


• Strong leadership and communication skills; able to manage a multi-national workforce


• Good command of English is required for reporting and coordination with clients and consultants


• Ability to communicate in Bengali, Tamil or Mandarin is an advantage, as the role involves supervising a multi-national site workforce


• Able to prepare simple reports using Microsoft Word and Excel


• Willing to work at different site locations, and on weekends or night shifts when required
