Job summary

SHENG SIN CONSTRUCTION PTE. LTD. is seeking a Construction Drafter in Singapore to create and revise detailed AutoCAD drawings for structural, formwork, and architectural components.

You will prepare shop drawings, interpret specs, and coordinate with engineers and site teams to ensure accuracy and on-time submissions. The role requires 2–3 years of drafting experience in Singapore, strong AutoCAD skills, and familiarity with BCA requirements. Revit knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma, NITEC, Higher NITEC or related in Civil/Structural/Architectural Drafting or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of drafting experience in Singapore's construction industry preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D; AutoCAD 3D knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, develop, and revise detailed construction drawings, shop drawings, and technical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Prepare structural, reinforced concrete, formwork, and architectural drawings based on project requirements.
• Develop formwork layout plans, sectional drawings, and construction details for site execution.
• Interpret architectural and structural drawings, engineering specifications, and construction requirements.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Site Supervisors, and consultants to ensure drawings meet project requirements.
• Prepare and update shop drawings for submission to main contractors and consultants for review and approval.
• Revise drawings based on comments, site conditions, design changes, and construction requirements.
• Ensure all drawings comply with approved design specs and relevant standards.
• Coordinate structural and architectural drawings to identify discrepancies and clashes.
• Prepare as-built drawings from completed works and verified site information.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision records, submission logs, and document control systems.
• Assist in preparing technical submissions, method statements, and construction docs.
• Conduct site visits to verify dimensions, site conditions, and construction details.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain necessary drawings and information.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of drawings according to project schedules.
• Perform other drafting and technical duties as assigned by management.

Job Description & Responsibilities

Job Requirements

1. Diploma, NITEC, Higher NITEC, or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Construction, Architectural Technology, Drafting, or a related discipline.

2. Minimum 2–3 years of relevant drafting experience in Singapore's construction industry is preferred.

3. Proficient in AutoCAD 2D drafting; knowledge of AutoCAD 3D is an advantage.

4. Experience in preparing structural, reinforced concrete, formwork, and construction shop drawings.

5. Good understanding of construction drawings, structural details, dimensions, levels, and technical specifications.

6. Familiarity with reinforced concrete construction, formwork systems, reinforcement detailing, and construction sequencing.

7. Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings independently.

8. Familiarity with Singapore construction practices, BCA requirements, and relevant drawing submission procedures.

9. Experience in preparing shop drawings, revised drawings, and as-built drawings.

10. Knowledge of Revit, BIM software, or other drafting applications is an added advantage.

11. Good communication and coordination skills when working with engineers, supervisors, and site teams.

12. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and drawing quality.

13. Able to work independently, manage multiple drawing assignments, and meet tight deadlines.

14. Willing to visit construction sites when required.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Experience working with structural contractors, formwork subcontractors, or main contractors in Singapore.

• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete structures, including columns, beams, slabs, walls, staircases, and foundations.

• Experience preparing formwork layout drawings, sections, and construction details.

• Familiarity with reinforcement detailing and bar bending schedules (BBS).

• Experience coordinating structural and architectural drawings.

• Knowledge of BIM modelling and Revit is an advantage.

• Experience supporting high‑rise residential, commercial, industrial, or institutional construction projects.
