Job summary

Gibson Dunn, based in Singapore, seeks a Conflicts Attorney to manage conflicts clearance for new clients, matters, and lateral candidates. You will review conflict reports, draft ethics walls, analyze engagement letters, and liaise with partners and counsel to ensure policy compliance.

You will supervise analysts, maintain records, and develop expertise in practice-area conflicts rules while supporting General Counsel and Legal Operations on related tasks.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of conflict-of-interest principles under professional responsibility rules in various jurisdictions.
• Experience analyzing conflicts of interest and the law of conflicts of interest.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, with attorneys and staff.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic environment to meet deadlines.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage workload.
• Strong analytic, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Aptitude for learning new systems, including design discussions for new or existing systems.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing conflict of interest reports for new firm representations and lateral hires to identify potential conflicts.
• Resolving conflict of interest issues (waivers, ethics wall memos) related to new client/matter/lateral hires.
• Analyzing information for compliance with firm policies and editing engagement letters accordingly.
• Proactively communicating with partners and management on complex conflicts issues.
• Reviewing outside counsel guidelines and assisting with compliance assessment.
• Supervising clearance efforts of Resolution Analysts and processes.
• Conducting orientation of staff regarding the new matter approval process.
• Consulting with partners and information governance to maintain effective screening restrictions.
• Maintaining thorough records of conflicts resolutions and communications.
• Developing expertise on conflicts rules for specific practice areas.
