Job summary

MCI CAREER SERVICES PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a dedicated Food Service Assistant to support daily meal service operations in a healthcare setting. You will help ensure patients receive meals accurately and on time, while maintaining cleanliness and assisting with meal-related tasks.

The role requires good English, strong interpersonal skills, physical stamina for shifts, and the ability to handle meal orders and dietary changes in collaboration with kitchen staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak and write English.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• In good physical health.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Physically fit for walking and standing for long periods.
• Able to push heavy-duty food trolleys as part of the job.
• Comfortable working in a children's environment; role involves serving children.

Responsibilities

• Serve breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and evening tea to patients.
• Collect food trays, crockery and cutlery after each meal service.
• Plug in AGV food trolleys at the wards to keep food warm and collect late-order meals or meal changes from the kitchen.
• Assist in taking and collating meal orders from patients and visitors.
• Communicate dietary changes with kitchen staff and assist with service recovery when necessary.
• Act as a buddy to new staff when assigned by the Team Leader or Supervisor.
• Perform minor housekeeping duties, including cleaning spillages on over-bed tables and packing clean cutlery.
• Attend daily roll calls, briefings, monthly department meetings and required training sessions.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Team Leaders and Supervisor.
