Job summary

GLOBAL CENTRE FOR MARITIME DECARBONISATION LIMITED seeks a communications professional to cover maternity leave in Singapore. You will coordinate collateral, manage media relations, support webinars and events, and keep branding and budget records up to date.

Ideal candidates have 4–7 years in communications, strong writing and editing skills, and ability to juggle multiple tasks. Knowledge of WordPress, InDesign and Monday.com is advantageous.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

The Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD) was established as an independent, non-profit organisationon 1 August 2021 to help international shipping decarbonise through pilots and trials. Its mission is to support decarbonisation through four pillars: shaping standards, deploying solutions, financing projects, and fostering collaboration across sectors.

GCMD was founded with the support of industry partners, alongside funding from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) for qualifying research and development programmes. Since its founding, GCMD has expanded its ecosystem to include more than 130 centre- and project-level partners contributing funds, expertise, and in‑kind support to pilot, accelerate the deployment, and scale the adoption of decarbonisation solutions.

GCMD has launched four key initiatives to close technical and operational gaps in: enabling ammonia as a marine fuel, developing an assurance framework for drop-in green fuels, unlocking the carbon value chain through onboard carbon capture and articulating the value chain of captured carbon dioxide, as well as closing the data‑financing gap to scale the adoption of energy efficiency technologies.

GCMD is strategically located in Singapore, the world’s largest bunkering hub and busiest transhipment port.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate communications materials, including press releases, articles, reports, presentations and other corporate collateral.
• Support media relations, including coordinating interviews and maintaining media contacts.
• Support webinars, conferences and other industry engagements, including speaker coordination, event communications and post-event content.
• Maintain communications resources and libraries, including media, photo, video and corporate materials.
• Help ensure that communications materials are aligned with GCMD’s branding guidelines.
• Update the GCMD website as required.
• Help maintain accurate and up-to‑date budget records.
• Support the team in tracking tasks and deliverables effectively on our project management platform.
• Support other communications activities as required during the maternity-cover period.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

• At least 4–7 years of experience in communications, PR, media, content or a related field.
• Strong writing and editing skills.
• Comfortable managing multiple communications activities and deadlines concurrently.
• Experience working with media, social media, websites and/or events.
• Good stakeholder-management skills and comfortable working with colleagues across different functions and levels.
• Organisedanddetail-oriented,withadisciplinedapproachtofollowingprocessesandkeepingtasksontrack.
• Willing and able to learn new digital tools, including AI tools, Adobe InDesign, WordPress andMonday.com.
• Experience in maritime, energy, sustainability or another technical/B2B sector would be useful, but is not essential.
