Job summary

SG Her Empowerment (SHE) is seeking a Communications Manager to lead SHE’s brand and media strategy. You will be the primary communications professional, driving day‑to‑day outputs across media, content, digital, and campaigns, in collaboration with the Director, Communications & Engagement.

You will coordinate with Programmes, Research, and SHECARES teams on events, advocacy, and public education, and oversee the corporate website redevelopment project with a vendor.

Qualifications

• Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Media, Journalism, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in communications, media, or public relations.
• Strong writing skills across formats—press releases, social copy, web content, reports.
• Proficiency in social media management across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
• Experience with Canva and Meta Business Suite.

Responsibilities

• Support media outreach and maintain media contact databases.
• Draft press releases, media pitches, fact sheets, key messages, and media responses.
• Coordinate media interviews, press events, and media enquiries.
• Develop and curate content for social media, website, press releases, annual report, and campaign materials in collaboration with internal teams.

About the Role

As Communications Manager, you will be the primary communications professional at SHE, working closely with the Director, Communications & Engagement to execute SHE's brand and media strategy. This is a hands‑on, individual contributor role — you will own the day‑to‑day delivery of SHE's communications across media, content, digital, and campaigns.

You will collaborate horizontally across SHE's Programmes, Research, and SHECARES teams on communications that span events, advocacy, and public education. You will also take over the project management of our corporate website redevelopment — a defined, near‑term project with an identified vendor, currently transitioning from our internal project lead.

This is a 1-year contract role with the potential for extension based on organisational needs and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Media Relations

• Support media outreach and maintain media contact databases.
• Draft press releases, media pitches, fact sheets, key messages, and media responses.
• Coordinate media interviews, press events, and media enquiries.
• Monitor media coverage and prepare regular media monitoring reports.

Content & Digital Communications

• Develop and curate content for social media, website, press releases, annual report, and campaign materials in close collaboration with internal teams.
• Manage external vendors to conceptualise social media campaigns and design compelling visuals across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
• Coordinate with designers, videographers, and vendors for digital assets and content production.
• Manage and update SHE's social media platforms and website.
• Plan, manage, and execute paid social media campaigns.
• Manage SEO and SEM efforts to strengthen SHE's digital presence.

Website Redevelopment (Project Management)

• Take over project management of SHE's corporate website redevelopment from the current internal lead.
• Liaise with the identified vendor to drive timelines, deliverables, and quality.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders to ensure content, approvals, and feedback are managed efficiently.
• Manage day‑to‑day website administration

Brand & Campaigns Execution

• Ensure consistent brand voice and visual identity across all communications touchpoints.
• Support the development and execution of awareness campaigns aligned to SHE's advocacy and research agenda through organising various strategic events

Administration & Operations

• Maintain communications calendars, asset libraries, and campaign documentation.
• Support procurement and coordination with external vendors.

Requirements

Essential

• Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Media, Journalism, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in communications, media, or public relations.
• Strong writing skills across formats — press releases, social copy, web content, reports.
• Proven experience in media relations — pitching, coordinating, and monitoring.
• Proficiency in social media management across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
• Experience with Canva and Meta Business Suite.
• Strong project management and organisational skills.
• Comfortable working as a strong individual contributor in a lean team.
• Open to Singaporeans and PRs only.

Desirable

• Experience managing paid social campaigns and SEO/SEM.
• Experience managing external vendors and creative agencies.
• Photography and/or video production skills.
• Prior experience in a nonprofit, public sector, or mission-driven organisation.
• Passion for gender equality, online safety, or social impact.
