Job summary

UNITED OVERSEAS INSURANCE LIMITED is seeking a Head of Commercial Distribution Division in Singapore to lead a high-performing team, drive revenue growth, and deliver superior service to commercial customers. You will steer partnerships, oversee underwriting processes, and champion transformation initiatives across channels including Bancassurance and Direct channels.

The role requires a strong background in general insurance, people leadership, and a track record of meeting revenue and service

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business or related discipline and professional insurance qualifications.
Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role in general insurance.
Strong understanding of the insurance industry, regulations, and market dynamics.
Proven sales and negotiation abilities with track record to meet or exceed targets.
Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with bank partners and customers.
Ability to conduct effective training sessions on insurance products.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
Demonstrated leadership to guide and motivate teams.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of professionals to achieve GWP and underwriting profit budget.
Identify, establish, and nurture partnerships with key stakeholders to promote insurance products.
Plan and execute new product development initiatives for business growth.
Evaluate, underwrite and quote risks for commercial classes in line with guidelines.
Place facultative reinsurance where required.
Develop a clear vision and strategic direction aligned with company goals.
Identify training needs and ensure staff are trained for efficiency.
Build and nurture high-performing teams with an inclusive work environment.
Conduct technical training within the Division to strengthen underwriting skills.
Ensure workforce planning aligns with current and future business needs.
Review procedures, support PMO with process and tech development to optimize operations.
Undertake other assignments to contribute to corporate objectives.
