Job summary

HP in Singapore seeks a College Intern in Procurement Engineering to join the Display Procurement team. You will work on both engineering and business activities for Display panels, evaluating supplier capabilities to meet HP demand and ensuring continuity through multiple sourcing and geographic diversity.

You will partner with R&D to support NPI, develop the Display panel roadmap, and drive cost reductions through supplier initiatives and Lean Sigma practices.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Able to commit to a 5–6-month full time internship, starting in January 2027.
  • Part-time arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities

  • You’ll be a member of the Display Procurement team, handling both engineering and business activities of the Display panels.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities to meet HP demand and support business continuity plans with multiple sourcing and geographic diversity.
  • Evaluate supplier designs, processes, and activities for HP manufacturing guidelines and quality standards using Lean Sigma.
  • Drive innovation, partner with R&D to support NPI, develop Display panel roadmap, and collaborate with the global team on Pan-HP Leverage.
  • Communicate and resolve supplier-related production problems as they occur.
  • Drive supplier improvement through Failure Analysis and corrective actions.
  • Contribute to cost reductions via negotiations and quality initiatives leveraging supplier technology.
  • Set HP quality objectives and audit suppliers to ensure data-based compliance.
  • Establish metrics for component production quality and conduct supplier quality reviews.
  • Develop relationships with outside suppliers and internal product development teams.
  • Assist in identifying suitable suppliers aligned with business objectives and continuous improvement.
  • Support escalations from parts, suppliers, or clients with timely resolutions and mitigations.
  • Work with suppliers to implement changes to reduce defects, improve quality, and lower costs.
  • Drive internal system and process enhancements to boost supplier performance across categories.
