Job summary

SJ Group in Singapore seeks an experienced Civil/Geotechnical Engineer to design and analyze coastal structures such as quay walls, ports, jetties, revetments and reclamation works. You will support project leaders and manage site investigations and sub-contractors.

The role requires 5+ years in large infrastructure projects, strong English communication, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Plaxis, with a disciplined, team‑oriented approach and ability to multi‑task.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering recognised by BCA/IES/ACES.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant civil engineering experience in large scale infrastructure/reclamation projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Experience in contract administration advantageous.
• Proficient with MS Office and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Plaxis.

Responsibilities

• Carry out C&S and geotechnical design and analysis for coastal structures.
• Assist Project Lead / Project Manager / Design Manager to carry out design and analysis.
• Plan for Site investigation and result interpretation.
• Manage sub contracts (e.g. soil investigation, Accredited Checker, biodiversity).
• Supervise both design and/or site work.
• Ensure all engineering works comply with relevant statutory standards, regulations and Codes of Practice.
• Engage and manage stakeholders including clients, design team and site team.
• Support tender submissions.

Job description

• Carry out C&S and geotechnical design and analysis for coastal structures such as quay wall, port, jetty, revetment and land reclamation etc. for local and/or oversea projects
• Assist the Project Lead / Project Manager / Design Manager to carry out:
• C&S, environmental and geotechnical design and analysis for coastal structures such as quay wall, port, jetty, revetment and land reclamation (i.e: deep and shallow foundation, temporary and permanent retaining system, soil improvement, instrumentation, etc)
• Plan for Site investigation and result interpretation,
• Managing sub contracts (i.e: soil investigation contract, Accredited Checker contract, biodiversity contract etc)
• Supervise both design and/or site work
• Ensure all engineering works comply with all relevant statutory standards, regulations and Codes of Practice
• Engage and manage stakeholders, such as clients, design team, site team and other relevant parties
• Support on pursue project : assist in tender submission

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering recognised by BCA/IES/ACES and from reputable university
• Minimum 5 years of relevant civil engineering experience in large scale infrastructure/reclamation projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Team player and able to multi-task
• Discipline, self-motivated and resourceful
• Experience in contract administration will be advantageous
• Well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite of Software (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc)
