Job summary

SJ Group in Singapore is seeking a Civil/Environmental Engineer to assist in planning and design of coastal infrastructure projects, including land reclamation and port works for local and overseas clients.

You will support the Executive Engineer/Design Manager, supervise design and site activities, manage subcontracts and main contracts, and engage stakeholders to ensure compliance with standards and codes of practice. Fresh graduates welcomed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering recognised by BCA/IES/ACES and from a reputable university.
• Fresh graduates are welcome
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Team player and able to multi-task
• Disciplined, self-motivated and resourceful
• Have relevant experience in large-scale infrastructure and/or reclamation projects (up to 5 years) are advantageous
• Experience in contract administration will be advantageous
• Well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Plaxis, etc. will be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Assist the team in planning & design works for civil engineering projects (e.g. land reclamation, port construction and other coastal structures) for local and/or overseas
• Assist the Executive Engineer / Design Manager to carry out: plan for site investigation and result interpretation
• Co-siting, environmental and geotechnical design and analysis for coastal structures such as quay wall, port, jetty, revetment and land reclamation (i.e. deep and shallow foundation, temporary and permanent retaining system, soil improvement, instrumentation, etc)
• Managing sub contracts (i.e. soil investigation contract, Accredited Checker contract, biodiversity contract, etc)
• Managing main contracts
• Supervise both design and/or site work
• Ensure all engineering works comply with all relevant statutory standards, regulations and codes of practice
• Engage and manage stakeholders, such as clients, design team, site team and other relevant parties
• Support on pursuing projects: assist in tender submission
• Assist in other Coastal department activities such as beach clean‑up and sports day
