Job summary

GRAND VENTURE TECHNOLOGY PRIVATE LIMITED is seeking a diligent CNC operator to set up and run production on CNC machines, ensuring adherence to 5S and daily operational standards. You will identify the latest drawings, select tools, load correct CNC programs, and follow the Setup Sheet to maintain smooth workflow.

The role requires the ability to interpret technical drawings, understand Process Travelers and Inspection Plans, and independently perform machine setup using Fanuc controllers.

Qualifications

• Minimum NITEC in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Able to understand/interpret technical drawing.
• Able to independently do machine set up.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run production on CNC Machine.
• Identify and use latest part drawings and engineering documents.
• Follow Setup Sheet instructions and use correct tools and fixtures.
• Upload and use latest CNC program based on Tool List.
• Ensure proper material input based on Process Traveler.
• Maintain clean workstation and proper tool arrangement.
• Coordinate with QA for in-process inspection when required.

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow instruction or task given by Line Leader, as example, set-up and run production on CNC Machine, 5S, any other task that deemed necessary to support organization daily operation.
• Identify and use only the latest part drawing and engineering documents.
• Ensure the right material/input is used, based on the Process Traveler.
• Identify correct tool, tool length and tool holder, retrieve correct fixture from the fixture rack based on the Tool List.
• Upload and use only latest CNC program in CNC Machine, based on the Tool List.
• Follow strictly all the written instruction prescript in the Setup Sheet.
• Run the CNC Machine with extreme care to avoid collision.
• Tentatively fill up all the relevant field in the engineering documents (Process Traveler, Inspection Plan)
• Identify and use only the latest part drawing and engineering documents.
• Ensure the right material/input is used, based on the Process Traveler.
• Send in part to QA for In-process Inspection based on AQL=4%. If pass, continue production run. If fail, refer Setup Inspection and inform line leader for help.
• Periodically remove and return unwanted tools from workstation.
• Arrange all the tools required to support the production run or machine set-up.
• Make sure the workstation is cleaned, free from metal chips, dirt, grease and oil.

Requirements:

• Minimum NITEC in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in precision machining environment will be preferred
• Able to understand/interpret technical drawing
• Able to understand and follow instruction as prescript in the engineering documents, e.g. Process Traveler, Process Routing, Setup Sheet and Inspection Plan.
• Able to independently do machine set up
• Understand and able to operate CNC machine (Fanuc Controller).
• Able to align and install machining fixture, and able to find program zero-point
• Able to use basic measuring instrument, Digital/Vernier Calipers, External micrometer, 3-point micrometer, Dial-indicator, Height gauge, Surface Roughness Tester, Plug / Ring Gage (Thread, Pin), Profile projector, Smart Scope, etc.
