Job summary

USER EXPERIENCE RESEARCHERS PTE. LTD is seeking a software engineer to develop and maintain scalable applications using Java/J2EE, Spring, and microservices. You will implement REST services, work with Kafka, MQs, and relational databases, and ensure code quality through tests.

You should be comfortable with Linux/Unix, CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Git platforms, and agile practices. Strong communication is essential as you collaborate across teams in a fast-growing environment in Singapore.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Software Engineering, or equivalent.
Experience in Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, Microservices, Hibernate, JPA, REST, JSON.
Familiar with Microservice architecture and REST web service development using Spring Boot.
Experience with Kafka, IBM MQ, Rabbit MQ and relational databases like Oracle / MS SQL.
Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and basic commands.
Proficiency with Jenkins, Git/Stash, Bitbucket, JIRA, Maven, SonarQube.
Experience with Agile/Scrum and tools (Jira, GitLab, Jenkins).
Familiarity with Software Unit Testing (JUnit).
Good verbal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain and enhance software application systems with functional requirements.
Follow coding standards, maintain high code quality, and write unit and integration tests.
Perform software integration tests and support system integration tests.
Provide production support and troubleshooting.
Learn and adapt to new technologies and concepts.
Work independently and as part of a team.
Maintain good verbal and written communication.
