Job summary

USER EXPERIENCE RESEARCHERS PTE. LTD is seeking a Java developer to design, implement and maintain server-side web applications. You will work on re-architecting parts of a system, build scalable services, and develop APIs for external and internal use.

You should have 1–3 years of Java experience, be proficient with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and familiar with REST/SOAP web services. Strong OO skills and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, IT or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in software engineering as a Java developer.
• Experience building server-side web applications in Java.
• Experience with Java Web Services (REST/SOAP).
• Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Proficient in object-oriented development.
• Able to adopt new technology quickly.
• Knowledge of Java frameworks, architecture and design patterns.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop new capabilities and re-architect parts of an existing system.
• Engage in test-driven, iterative development with the team.
• Design and code middle and back-end in a clean, efficient way.
• Implement scalable and robust services.
• Develop external and internal APIs.
• Develop and run unit and performance tests for scalability and reliability.
• Review and debug code.
• Create documentation, diagrams and code comments to explain solutions.
