Job summary

GECO Asia in Singapore is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver enterprise-grade Java applications powering mission-critical platforms. You will build scalable cloud-native solutions, drive technical excellence, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-quality software.

The role requires 7+ years of Java backend experience, expertise with Spring Boot, microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in Java software engineering, backend development, or enterprise application development.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale, distributed, or cloud-native applications within enterprise environments.
• Experience working in Agile software development teams and collaborating with cross functional business and technology stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance Java applications and microservices using modern software engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust, maintainable technical solutions.
• Lead technical design discussions, conduct code reviews, and promote engineering best practices to ensure code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Build and optimize cloud-native applications, APIs, and distributed systems while supporting CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and production deployments.
• Troubleshoot complex application issues, improve system performance and reliability, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the software development lifecycle.
