Job summary

PATEC PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to lead cloud strategy, architecture and migration initiatives across AWS, Azure or GCP. You will design scalable, secure infrastructure and collaborate with IT teams to deliver resilient solutions.

Responsibilities cover governance, automation (IaC), CI/CD and vendor management, with emphasis on cost efficiency and risk reduction. Relevant certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/IT/CE or related field.
• 5–8 years of IT infra/cloud experience.
• Hands-on with at least one major cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong knowledge of cloud networking, storage, IAM and security.
• Experience with migration, DR, backup and high availability design.
• Familiarity with scripting/automation: Python, PowerShell, Bash, Terraform.
• Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, monitoring and infra management.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and stakeholder-management skills.
• Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect etc.) are advantageous.

Job description

Responsibilities:

1. Cloud architecture and strategy

• Design and implement cloud architectures using AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Develop cloud adoption, migration and infrastructure modernisation strategies.

• Evaluate cloud technologies and recommend suitable solutions based on performance, scalability, security and cost.

2. Cloud infrastructure and operations

• Design and manage cloud computing, storage, databases, networking and backup solutions.

• Establish high availability, disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities.

• Oversee cloud infrastructure deployment, monitoring, capacity planning and performance optimisation.

3. Security and governance

• Implement cloud security policies, identity and access management (IAM), encryption and network security controls.

• Ensure compliance with internal IT policies and applicable data protection requirements.

• Conduct security assessments and manage infrastructure vulnerabilities and risks.

4. Cloud migration and integration

• Lead migration of on-premises applications, servers and databases to cloud environments.

• Design integrations between cloud platforms, enterprise applications and existing infrastructure.

• Minimise downtime and business disruption during migrations and system upgrades.

5. Automation and DevOps

• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

• Develop CI/CD pipelines and automate infrastructure provisioning and routine operational tasks.

• Work with development and operations teams to improve deployment efficiency and reliability.

6. Stakeholder and vendor management

• Collaborate with IT teams, business users and external vendors on infrastructure projects.
• Prepare architecture diagrams, technical documentation, project plans and cost estimates.
• Provide technical leadership, troubleshoot complex issues and recommend continuous improvements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.

• Approximately 5–8 years of relevant IT infrastructure, cloud engineering or architecture experience.

• Demonstrated hands‑on experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Microsoft Azure or GCP.

• Strong knowledge of cloud networking, virtualisation, storage, databases, IAM and security.

• Experience with cloud migration, disaster recovery, backup and high‑availability design.

• Familiarity with scripting and automation tools such as Python, PowerShell, Bash or Terraform.

• Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD, monitoring and infrastructure management.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

• Relevant cloud certifications, such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, would be an advantage.
