Job summary

National University Health System in Singapore is seeking a laboratory professional to manage specimen reception, preparation and packing, while supporting QC activities and SOP development. The role includes assisting in telephone reception and ensuring accurate billing processes.

You will perform specimen analysis, troubleshoot instrument issues, and adhere to SOPs and safety standards. Responsibilities also include guiding junior staff and contributing to SOP revisions.

Qualifications

• Degree in relevant field or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of relevant working experiences.
• To perform 3 rotating shifts - morning, afternoon and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen reception, preparation, and packing of specimens.
• Assist with telephone reception duties and ensure patients’ bills are accurate and correct.
• Carry out specimen analysis, operate, maintain and troubleshoot the analysers and validation of results.
• Able to troubleshoot and explain basic problems and escape when required.
• Knowledgeable on Quality Control (QC) (eg. Westgard, criteria, EQA) and verification of QC results and assist to troubleshoot issues.
• Adhere to the department’s standard operating procedures and safety requirements.
• Assist in the supervision and guiding of junior staff.
• Revise or write new SOP.
