Qualifications

• Higher NITEC is required.
• Relevant clinical laboratory experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Receive laboratory specimens through the main Pneumatic Tube delivery system.
• Receive specimens and reject unsuitable ones.
• Operate the Laboratory Information System (LIS) for order entry, sample receipt and result query.
• Sort and arrange samples for different divisions and dispatch to correct stations.
• Perform simple processing and sorting of samples (blood, urine and others).
• Manage sample movement between stations and equipments.
• Respond to customer enquiries at Reception or escalate when unclear.
• Perform basic rapid testing and alert personnel of critical values.
• Undertake preventive maintenance on instrumentation and report malfunctions.
• Notify when reagents or supplies should be reordered.
• Report adverse incidents to senior staff and perform shift duties as required.
• Keep updated with new instrumentation and techniques by attending workshops and trainings.
• Comply with Laboratory Safety Manual and CAP/ Singapore regulatory requirements.
• Adhere to NUHS core values and workplace etiquette.
