Job summary

Ren Ci Hospital in Singapore seeks an experienced Nurse Educator to lead training and education for nursing staff and students. You will establish learning environments, plan and evaluate preceptorships, conduct on-the-job training, and coordinate unit-based programs to strengthen clinical practice.

Requirements include a Diploma or Degree in Nursing, ACLP, and ideally a Specialist Diploma in clinical education, plus at least six years of clinical experience; registration with the Singapore

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Nursing and registration with the Singapore Nursing Board.
• Advanced Certificate in Learning & Performance (ACLP) mandatory.
• Preferably a Specialist Diploma in clinical education.

Job description

Training and education for Nursing staff and students

• Establish optimal clinical learning environment.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate preceptorship scheme for strengthening clinical support of new staff.
• Provide OJT training of new staff and assist Nurse Managers in the wards to ensure their competencies.
• Co-ordinate and organize training activities to strengthen unit-based generic and specialty clinical practices.
• Plan, implement and evaluate unit-based and discipline-based training courses.
• Ensure appropriate orientation, training and continuing education for nursing staff to advance and maintain the required level of competency.

Assist to develop and implement Nursing Standards

• Ensure that patient care delivery is implemented and monitored according to established standards of care and practice.
• Act as a resource person to Nurse Manager on clinical nursing and nursing training matters and issues.
• Apply principles to prevent medico-legal issues in relation to patient care and perform summative assessment of nursing staff and students.
• Training and education for other non-nursing staff/volunteers.
• Develop and conduct hospital-based training in relation to MOH requirements and organizational needs.

Job Requirements

Diploma orDegree in Nursing

Advanced Certificate in Learning & Performance (ACLP)

Preferably to have a Specialist Diploma in clinical education

At least 6 years of experience in clinical care

Must be Registered Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board
