Qualifications

• Specialist Diploma in clinical education or CI Certificate preferred.
• At least 6 years of experience in clinical care.
• CI experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a supportive and effective clinical learning environment for nursing staff and students.
• Design, implement, and evaluate preceptorship programmes to enhance clinical integration.
• Provide structured OJT and competency guidance for new staff with Nurse Managers.
• Coordinate and facilitate educational initiatives to strengthen nursing competencies.
• Develop, deliver, and assess unit-based and discipline-specific training programmes.
• Ensure comprehensive orientation and ongoing education for nursing personnel.
• Support development and review of nursing policies, procedures, and standards.
• Monitor and evaluate patient care practices for compliance with standards.
• Promote adherence to legal, ethical, and professional standards with risk management.
• Conduct competency assessments and provide feedback for development.

Job description

• Provide a supportive and effective clinical learning environment that promotes professional growth and competency development among nursing staff and students.
• Design, implement, and evaluate preceptorship programmes to enhance the clinical integration and support of newly recruited nursing personnel.
• Provide structured on-the-job training (OJT) and competency guidance for new staff, working closely with Nurse Managers to ensure clinical proficiency and safe practice.
• Coordinate and facilitate educational initiatives aimed at strengthening both general nursing competencies and specialty-specific clinical skills within the units.
• Develop, deliver, and assess unit-based and discipline-specific training programmes to support continuous professional development.
• Ensure nursing personnel receive comprehensive orientation, ongoing education, and competency-based training to maintain high standards of clinical practice.
• Support the development, implementation, and review of nursing policies, procedures, and professional standards
• Monitor and evaluate patient care practices to ensure compliance with established clinical standards, organisational policies, and professional guidelines
• Promote adherence to legal, ethical, and professional standards in patient care, applying risk management principles to minimise medico-legal concerns
• Conduct competency assessments and performance evaluations for nursing staff and students, providing constructive feedback and development recommendations
• Develop, coordinate, and deliver hospital-wide educational initiatives aligned with Ministry of Health (MOH) requirements, regulatory standards, and organisational priorities
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes and recommend improvements to ensure learning outcomes and operational goals are achieved.

Requirements:

• Preferably to have a Specialist Diploma in clinical education/ Clinical Instructor (CI) Certificate
• At least 6 years of experience in clinical care
• Preferably to have relevant CI experience
