Job summary

Ren Ci Hospital in Novena, Singapore, is seeking an experienced Nursing Education & Development lead to design and deliver training programs for nursing staff and students. You will oversee orientation, ongoing education, and competency assessments while coordinating external learning opportunities and clinical placements.

The role involves supervising all nurse grades, supporting incident investigations, and maximizing the education budget to ensure high standards of patient care and staff

Qualifications

• Degree in Nursing or post-basic qualification in Education or Clinical Specialty.
• Registered Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board.
• WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP).
• At least 7 years in clinical care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct training needs analysis to determine skills/knowledge gaps.
• Plan and coordinate orientation and in-house training programs and evaluate effectiveness.
• Source external learning opportunities and organize conferences, seminars and workshops.
• Guide clinical instructors/preceptors on nursing student and staff competencies.
• Support Nurse Manager in investigating ward incidents involving nursing students.
• Support Nurse Manager to maintain consistent compliance in patient care standards.
• Provide supervision to all grades of nurses, including trainees.
• Identify skills and knowledge deficits in nursing care delivery.
• Coordinate staff development for advanced diplomas or CCMDA awards.
• Maximize training budget for staff education and development.
• Market training programs to external organizations.

• Assist in emergency situations involving patient care.

Nursing Research

• Strengthen the link between clinical nursing and research.
• Critically review research articles, communicate and apply significant findings to their areas of practice.
• Encourage nurses to identify research questions, participate in research and apply findings to practice.

Accreditation

• Assist reporting officer in preparing, submitting and obtaining the accreditation.
• Work with reporting officer to strategize and plan for the development of the department based on organizational needs.
