Job summary

Direct Search Global is seeking a marine claims specialist based in Singapore to manage H&M, Loss of Hire, and P&I claims. You will collaborate with the Singapore Claims team and focus on coverage issues, recoveries, and documentation analysis for H&M clients and P&I Members in Southeast Asia.

The role requires strong communication, team collaboration, and the ability to work independently to drive negotiations and resolutions across global teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a marine technical, nautical, or shipping background.
• Experience with Hull & Machinery claims is advantageous.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle marine H&M, Loss of Hire and/or P&I claims.
• Cooperate closely with the Singapore Claims team.
• Focus on coverage issues, recoveries, and analysis of incoming claims documentation.
• Work with Singapore and Southeast Asian H&M clients and P&I Members.
• Manage client and broker relationships.
• Communicate effectively throughout the life of a claim.
• Participate in negotiations and claims resolutions.

• Handle marine H&M, Loss of Hire and/or P&I claims.
• Close cooperation with Singapore Claims team is essential.
• Focus on coverage issues, recoveries, analysis of incoming claims documentation and reviewing policy terms.
• Work primarily with Singapore and Southeast Asian H&M clients and P&I Members.
• Manage client and broker relationships.
• Manage all communications associated with the life of a claim.
• Take active part in negotiations and claims resolutions.
• Work closely with the team locally and globally.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience from a marine technical, nautical, legal or other relevant shipping related background. Previous experience within marine insurance sector will be an advantage.
• Experience with handling Hull & Machinery claims would be an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to perform in and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
• Able to analyse, structure and organise tasks and work independently.
• Highly motivated to learn as well as share knowledge.
