Job summary

Overseas Technical Engineering and Construction PTE. LTD. is seeking a Senior Civil & Structural Engineer to support civil and structural activities for plants, storage terminals, or oil & gas sectors in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from Professional Engineers Board or BCA-recognized institution.
• Minimum 5 years of civil and structural engineering experience in Plants, Storage Tank Terminals, or Oil & Gas.
• Proficient knowledge of BS 5950, Eurocode 7 (EN 1997), AISC, ASCE and other relevant design standards.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve civil and structural documents, drawings, calculations and submissions to secure government authority approval and support construction activities.
• Ensure activities and deliverables comply with ISO standards, client specifications, project quality procedures and relevant codes.
• Apply drawing checking and approval procedures to verify accuracy and quality of deliverables.
• Provide technical support to construction teams to resolve site-related engineering issues and ensure execution aligns with approved drawings and specs.
• Perform structural design and analysis calculations using relevant codes and software to ensure safe and compliant structures.
• Assist the Lead Engineer in developing layouts, design details, calculations, and other project deliverables.
• Prepare engineering drawings, design sketches and details; coordinate with engineers, designers and drafters to ensure design intent is captured.
• Evaluate alternative design options and document findings for Lead Engineer review.
• Supervise and coordinate engineers, designers and drafters to meet project schedules and quality standards.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation disciplines to ensure integrated designs and resolve interfaces.
• Identify and resolve design discrepancies and constructability concerns collaboratively.
• Manage engineering deliverables to meet schedules and required standards.

Required competencies and certifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an institution recognized by the Professional Engineers Board or BCA.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in civil and structural engineering within Plants, Storage Tank Terminals, or Oil & Gas Industry.
• Proficient knowledge of local and international codes and standards including BS 5950, Eurocode 7 (EN 1997), AISC, ASCE, and other relevant design standards.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Familiarity with Singapore building regulations, local authority submission requirements, and applicable codes of practice.
• Extensive relevant experience suitable for consideration as a Senior Civil & Structural Engineer.
