Job summary

Tuas Power Generation Pte Ltd is seeking a Civil/Structural Project Manager in the Project Management department to oversee civil and structural engineering for all project phases from feasibility to commissioning. You will manage cost estimation, scheduling, risk assessment and coordinate with consultants, vendors and contractors to deliver on time, within budget and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Willing to complete PUB training and assessments for Flood Protection Manager.
• At least 8 years of civil/structural engineering experience in major industrial, power, utilities or infrastructure projects.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (Civil) in Singapore, or working towards registration.
• Experience with foundations, piling, reinforced concrete and steel structures, drainage and underground services.
• Experience preparing technical specifications, evaluating tenders and managing consultant/contractor interfaces.
• Knowledge of Singapore civil/structural requirements, authority approval processes and workplace safety.

Job description

You will work in the Project Management department to provide civil and structural engineering support. Your role is to manage, plan and oversee the various phases of project development phase from conceptual and feasibility studies, front-end engineering to project implementation phase comprising detailed engineering, manufacturing, construction, testing and commissioning to achieve the business targets on value engineering, cost optimization and within budget allocation, timely project completion with highest safety standards.

This will include:

• Carry out project development activities including project cost estimation, project scheduling and project risk assessment;

• Prepare technical specification and tender documents and be involved in contract negotiation;

• Conduct tender evaluation for the award of consultancy and EPC contracts;

• Carry out project management and contract management for EPC projects; and

• Maintain good working relationships and coordination with relevant parties such as consultants, key equipment vendors, contractors for the development and implementation of new projects

You will be responsible to develop and coordinate coastal protection arrangements for the Tuas Power group of facilities in Tuas and Jurong Island. You will need to assume the group's Coastal Protection Manager role and, upon meeting PUB's requirements and formal appointment for the relevant premises, perform the Flood Protection Manager duties under the applicable coastal protection framework.

You will need to ensure that statutory standards, company policies and procedures are followed, particularly those standards, policies and procedures that relate to personal safety of team members and others.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognize institution

• Able and willing to complete PUB-required training and assessments and meet the applicable requirements before appointment as Flood Protection Manager

• At least 8 years of relevant civil and structural engineering experience in major industrial, power, utilities or infrastructure projects, including design review and construction coordination

• Registration as a Professional Engineer (Civil) in Singapore, or working towards registration; relevant postgraduate training in geotechnical, coastal or structural engineering will be an advantage

• Experience with foundations, piling, reinforced concrete and steel structures, drainage and underground services, preferably within an operating industrial site

• Experience preparing technical specifications, evaluating tenders and managing consultant and contractor interfaces

• Working knowledge of Singapore civil and structural requirements, authority approval processes and workplace safety requirements
