Job summary

Tengah General and Community Hospital in Singapore invites a Principal Pharmacist, Retail and Pricing, to lead retail pharmacy operations and pricing strategies within a state-of-the-art health campus.

You will evaluate retail productivity, manage pricing structures, collaborate with ALPS purchasing, and mentor Retail Assistants while ensuring compliance and high-quality patient service in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience in a medical institution or hospital.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with calm, decisive problem solving under pressure.
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload while multi-tasking.
• Strong analytical, communication, written and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently, in a team and across teams with minimal supervision.
• Strong leadership qualities to motivate and nurture the team to meet institutional goals.
• Tech-savvy with ability to learn new software and other relevant programs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate Retail Assistant’s productivity in topping up, merchandising, housekeeping, handling customer enquiries and cashiering related activities; review progress with supervisor.
• Handle customer enquiries and requests for specific products not available in retail pharmacy.
• Evaluate customer feedback and plans for improvement; ensure Retail Assistant comply with service ethics.
• Review and improve retail operation workflow regarding ordering, returns and shelf-life management to reduce wastage.
• Ensure pharmacy stocks are kept in good condition and monitor expiry dates.
• Monitor financial and service performance of retail operations; update HOD on outcomes and action plans.
• Develop and implement skill development programs for all Retail Assistants, covering product, merchandising, cashiering and customer service.
• Strategize and plan for retail pharmacy development and expansion; review product range to meet customer needs; explore revenue opportunities.
• Foster good working relationships and teamwork among pharmacy staff (between outpatient and retail staff).
• Collaborate with ALPS purchasing team: rationalise National projects, assist with contracts and licensing, negotiate manpower.
• Set up pricing structures and make pricing decisions on margins and markup; ensure correct item code setup and timely implementation.
• Assist with CDMP / Medifund workflow; decide final workflow for pricing checks.
• Handle other ad hoc duties as assigned.
