Summary: The CEO leads the foundation’s strategy and operations, serves as its spokesperson, and works with the board to set goals. The role manages finances and compliance, builds external partnerships, and oversees a high-performing team to advance the foundation’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with the foundation’s mission, values and long-term vision.
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for the foundation.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and innovation.

2. Board Relations

  • Collaborate with the board of directors and family members to set organizational goals, priorities and policies.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on foundation activities, finances, impact and strategic progress.

3. Financial Management

  • Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the CFO or finance team.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
  • Oversee investment strategies and financial stewardship of the foundation’s assets.

4. Partnerships

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with governments, partners, and community leaders.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration and co-investment.
  • Represent the foundation at public events, conferences, and in the media to advance its mission.

5. Operations & Team Management

  • Lead and manage a high-performing team, fostering professional growth and accountability.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring effective systems and processes are in place to support program delivery and strategic goals.
  • Promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion across all aspects of the foundation’s work.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of prior experience as a CEO, Executive Director, or in a related senior leadership position within a foundation.
  • Strong business acumen and a history of providing visionary leadership at the executive level.
  • Excellent written, oral, and public speaking skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with strong interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, retain, and motivate high-performing, mission-driven, and results-oriented teams.
