Job summary

Chemlex (F.E.) in Singapore seeks an Assistant Manager to coordinate and oversee procurement planning, inventory control, order fulfilment and project coordination.

You will review customer requirements with suppliers, monitor stock levels, and develop replenishment plans while ensuring safety and SOP adherence.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma in a related field, 3+ years in operations or logistics, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency in Excel.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in related field (SCM, Logistics, Eng, etc.).
• 3+ years in operations, procurement, inventory or logistics.
• Experience in chemical distribution or manufacturing is a plus.
• Experience coordinating teams, suppliers or projects.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in Excel and generating reports.
• Good communication with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily operations across procurement, inventory, logistics and order fulfilment.
• Review customer requirements and coordinate with suppliers to meet specs and delivery schedules.
• Evaluate supplier quotations and prepare cost comparisons for management approval.
• Monitor stock levels and lead times; develop replenishment plans.
• Coordinate deliveries and project schedules with customers, transport providers and contractors.
• Review purchase orders, safety data sheets and certificates of analysis for accuracy.
• Investigate stock discrepancies, delays, and complaints; coordinate corrective actions.
• Monitor expenses and prepare reports on purchasing costs and delivery performance.
• Supervise staff, allocate work and monitor completion against priorities.
• Support SOPs and workplace safety requirements.
• Recommend improvements to purchasing, stock control and order processing.
• Update management on risks, outstanding matters and project progress.
