Job summary

Mazu Recruitment is partnering with an international ship owner in the search for a Chartering Manager to join its growing Singapore office. This role focuses on the commercial employment of owned geared and non-geared bulk carriers within the spot market.

You will build relationships with charterers and brokers, monitor market developments and support strategy with management through reports and market intelligence.

Qualifications

• Previous dry bulk chartering experience with an owner.
• Experience chartering geared and/or non-geared bulk carriers.
• Strong understanding of spot market trading and dry bulk freight market dynamics.
• Existing relationships across the dry bulk chartering and brokerage market would be advantageous.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with charterers, brokers and other market participants.
• Self-motivated, commercially minded and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Should be able to work independently and take ownership of decisions taken.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and conclude spot market fixtures, identifying opportunities to maximise vessel utilisation and earnings
• Develop and maintain relationships with charterers, brokers and other market participants
• Monitor freight market developments, cargo flows, vessel positioning and regional trading opportunities
• Identify and evaluate commercial opportunities to optimise vessel deployment and trading performance
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to support chartering strategies and commercial decision-making
• Prepare market intelligence and commercial reports for management
• Contribute to the continued growth and development of the company's chartering activities in the region

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced dry bulk chartering professional to join a commercially focused team responsible for the employment of owned geared and non-geared bulk carriers within the spot market. Working closely with senior management, the successful candidate will play a key role in identifying cargo opportunities, maximising vessel earnings and contributing to the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities
